Who Pays for What in a Wedding, Orlando Florida, Wedding budget
Forget the archaic rule that says certain people have to pay for certain things. The bride’s parents need not take out a third mortgage to pay for the wedding, and the groom’s parents are not off the hook either. Besides, the two of you might even be covering a good chunk of the expenses yourselves. The best way to work it out? Sit down with pencil, paper, and calculator and figure out what you really want and can afford. Keep in mind that informal weddings are usually smaller (and therefore cheaper), and formal weddings tend to be larger (and therefore more expensive).

Orlando Wedding Services, Central Florida, Outdoor Weddings
Considering an Outdoor Wedding? Florida has some of the most gorgeous weather you can ask for…but it can also be very fickle. Here are a few things to consider before making your final decision!
How do you handle change?
A rain/inclement weather call will need to be made on the wedding day. Have a non-emotional third party (your Wedding Planner for instance) make this call with/for you. Many times in Florida the chance of rain is high for just a portion of the day. Such as 20% all day but from 3pm-5pm it’s 80%. This is when you’d want to call it in! While your event might not start until 5:30pm, there will be lots of setup going on throughout the day and if everything gets wet (linen, chairs, napkins, etc…) it will be a sloppy mess!
Does your venue have a decent backup location?
Does the backup space hold the number of guests you are expecting (don’t forget to consider dance floor, cake table and DJ table)? Does the location allow you to install a tent on the grounds? This is a big question that often gets missed. If your location is city operated or is a historic site, chances are a tent will have many regulations if you can install one at all. Know your options before you sign!
Consider the heat!!
Not all of your guests are used to the 100 degree weather we get in the summer. And it just isn’t comfortable to be outside in anything but a bikini in this kind of weather! If your wedding will take place in the months of June-September, consider a later start time to avoid the hottest times of the day. 6 or 6:30pm start time is best!
Consider the wind!
This one gets overlooked often. Things like seating assignments should be wind resistant…don’t do tented escort cards as they will likely blow right away!
Consider the cold!
Again, the weather in Florida is fickle. It can be 80 degrees one day, and 40 the next so if you are getting married in March, April, October or November be prepared for a freeze backup. Heaters help tremendously but can be as much as $100 each so an inclement weather budget line may be appropriate. Also, cute little throws you can get at IKEA tied with a pretty ribbon and a note to “Keep Warm” will help break the chill!
Overall, outdoor weddings in Florida can be the most beautiful that you see. They are truly my favorite weddings to design because there are so many natural elements to work with. Just remember, be okay with Plan B, put on a huge smile and remember that no matter what happens, you’re still marrying the love of your life!

11 Wedding Trends for 2011
1. Prohibition-Era Elegance
So long, Mad Men — the most stylish new show is Boardwalk Empire, so feel free to take a wedding style cue from the dapper fashion of the 1920s. Think dusty nude and lace dresses for your bridesmaids and wing-tip shoes for the guys. And it wouldn’t feel like the Prohibition era without alcohol. To reinterpret the boozy nights of the Roaring ’20s, serve up “moonshine” and Prohibition “bathtub gin” in your very own speakeasy bar, all while guests dance the night away to jazz (naturally!).
